Éamonn Walsh was born in Dublin. He attended Synge Street C.B.S. secondary school in Dublin and retains many friends from those days. He lived and still lives in Walkinstown, Dublin 12 and knows his neighbourhood well. After school Eamonn went to Trinity College Dublin, graduating with a degree in law. From there he went on to the King's Inns and was called to the bar. He also obtained a master's degree in law in the L.S.E.

Éamonn is a member of Donore Harriers Athletic Club, has run the Dublin City Marathon twice, and will be swimming the Liffey Swim this September for the first time.
He was involved in the successful ‘Save 16 Moore Street Campaign’ to preserve the site of the last meeting of the 1916 Provisional Government.
He has participated in Election Monitoring in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (2006) and Bosnia Herzegovina (1998).

Éamonn has been associated with south Dublin all his life and was delighted to be elected as a councillor on South Dublin County Council in the June 2009 elections on his first attempt at running for public office. Eamonn's campaign was based around a very active team listening very closely to the issues in south Dublin and acting on what he heard back. He has already established a reputation for getting things done including a clean up of the lanes around his native Cherryfield which yielded a healthy amount of recyclable material. His latest campaign involved removing all the election poster ties he came across. Needless to say Éamonn had removed his election posters ahead of time and taken the plastic ties which hold them up as well. However it seems many other candidates neglected to remove their eyesore ties. The Walsh solution was to just remove them all anyway by his own hard work and that of his team.  Éamonn  plans to keep your environment in better condition with this and many other innovative ideas. Whether you voted him or not, he's getting results!
